El Capote

Colombia. A land of vibrant culture, dramatic landscapes, world-renowned coffee, and warm hospitality. Here in the heart of Tolima, where the Andes meet the tropics, time seems to slow down: cattle graze peacefully and horses are still part of daily life.

El Capote invites you to slow down and immerse yourself in the outdoors. Guests can ride through open farmland, relax by the pool in the sun, enjoy a massage or unwind in a hammock with a good book.

We look forward to welcoming you to our home, our horses, and our way of life. Come and experience the soul of Colombia - gently and joyfully.

A Tropical Climate

For the most enjoyable stay, plan your visit between December and March or July and August, when the weather is sunny and dry. The rainy season, typically April to June and September to November, brings heavier showers that can limit outdoor activities. Expect consistently warm, tropical weather throughout the year. You’ll want to plan for daytime temperatures in the high 20s to low 30s °C (mid-80s to low-90s °F).

There are very few mosquitos but there are very small insects, like midges, that come out at dusk. The house is enveloped by anti-midge screens and providing our guests are always indoors between 4-6pm we are safe from their small bites. When not swimming or sunbathing we recommend loose, long sleeved clothes.
